Pamela Norris
My early life was rife with otherworldly happenings—visions and voices, feelings and thoughts. I was fascinated with biblical stories and fairy tales. As I aged and matured, my interests grew into psychology and metapsychology. My fascination with Western astrology began in my early teens, way before computers and easily generated charts. I sat in the town library, with the ephemeris, and created charts for friends—I am a self-taught astrologer. For the past 60 years, I have read, and researched and talked and listened and fed my passion for astrology. And it doesn’t end there; other forms of occult systems also intrigue me, as do various forms of religious and spiritual practices, particularly those from other cultures.

About 5 decades ago I was given my first Tarot deck, and it was love at first sight! So while astrology was my first interest, the Tarot is my true love—the foundation of my work. I practice it for insights into my own personal growth and I share it with others through my readings, teaching, mentoring, and writing. It is an amazing mirror into the evolution of the person—the ego and beyond.
My introduction to the Hindu system of astrology, Jyotisha, came about 5 years ago. I found this system to be so familiar and comforting, so pertinent to development and understanding, and began my studies of this new (to me) approach to astrology, karma, and consciousness. After 4 years of rigorous study with my mentor, Dennis Flaherty, I am now a certified Jyotish Visharada.

All of these practices weave themselves in and out of life’s goings-on—school, travel, relationships, children, and work. I spent years in academia developing my other loves—Marine Biology and Transpersonal Psychology (for there is little difference between the nature of the ocean and the psyche) and I still pursue those interests and find ways to use and apply what I am learning.
I invite you to join me on my exploration—to open your mind and heart to what is possible! |
